William Gordon Scarborough

Shreveport, LA - Mr. William Gordon Scarborough, age 90 passed away on 26th of September, 2013, at 12:30 am at Willis Knighton Hospital. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, September 30th at Osborn Funeral Home. Memorial will follow at 11:00 in Osborn Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Carl Rhoads of First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery. Mr. Scarborough was a native of Shreveport, LA., for 90 years, and was a member of First United Methodist Church. He graduated from Centenary College and was a Kappa Alpha Fraternity Alumni. William was a decorated Veteran of World War II. Dedicated to his family and was a prominent business man for over 50 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman also enjoyed playing tennis. William had a great sense of humor, a man of great humility and integrity. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr & Mrs Daniel Culpepper Scarborough, and his brother Daniel Culpepper Scarborough, III. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Duyer Scarborough of 67 years; his daughters, Jane Scarborough, and Mary Bowman Scarborough; son, William Gordon Scarborough, Jr.; two grandchildren, John Paxton Monsour and William Gregory Monsour; nephew, Daniel Culpepper Scarborough, IV. The family requests that memorials be made to First United Methodist Church. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all their friends.09/26/2013
